Georgia works on ‘dime’ defense during Tuesday’s practice

ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia spent part of Tuesday’s practice working on its dime defense in preparation for its annual meeting with Florida in Jacksonville.

The Bulldogs have used the nickel defense as their base set for most of the season. The dime set features four cornerbacks and two safeties.

The two outside cornerbacks were Malkom Parrish and Deandre Baker. Maurice Smith was the nickel corner and Aaron Davis was being used as a linebacker. Dominick Sanders and Quincy Mauger were at safety.

The lone inside linebacker on the field was Roquan Smith, with Lorenzo Carter and Davin Bellamy at outside linebacker.
