UGA basketball fans had been hoping that Mark Fox would be able to add a former top 50 recruit by transfer this offseason. If he's going to do it, it won't be former Wheeler High standout Daniel Giddens. The former Ohio State player announced today that he'll be transferring to Alabama. Giddens had also been considering the Bulldogs, Pitt, and TCU.
Giddens will have three years of eligibility left after sitting out the 2016-17 season. The 6'10, 240 pound center/forward would have certainly been a nice addition to the Georgia front court. He would be the biggest guy on the roster other than little-used, still-developing forward Osahen Iduwe.
