Georgia makes it official: James Coley promoted to OC role with Bulldogs

The Bulldogs have named current quarterback coach James Coley as the next offensive coordinator, after the departure of Jim Chaney to Tennessee.

Coley, a Florida State alum, began his college coaching career at LSU, with stops in the Miami Dolphins organization, at Florida International, with the Seminoles, and the Miami Hurricanes.

He came to Georgia in 2016 as wide receiver’s coach and last year was promoted to co-offensive coordinator and quarterback’s coach.

Maybe the biggest advantage of keeping Coley – and promoting him – is his expertise in the recruiting of the talent-rich South Florida region.
