Georgia’s 2017 recruiting class has taken a hit.
Four-star linebacker Breon Dixon announced Sunday on Twitter that he was rescinding his previous verbal commitment to the school.
Dixon, who committed on Christmas Day last December, said Georgia will remain on his list of options. He also holds offers from 22 other schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
Dixon, who is 6-foot and 218 pounds, is ranked as a top-15 inside linebacker nationally and top-25 prospect in Georgia, according to 247Sports Composite.
Dixon plays at Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia, where his teammates include four-star cornerback DeAngelo Gibbs, four-star offensive tackle Tony Gray and four-star quarterback Chase Brice, a Clemson commit.
