Head coach Kirby Smart indicated Georgia is close to finalizing its first-team offensive line.
The only starting spot Smart said is still up for grabs is at right tackle, where freshman Andrew Thomas has worked with the first team over the past week. While Thomas would appear to be the lead candidate for the starting job, Smart said he is “neck and neck” with redshirt freshman Ben Cleveland for the spot.
“Each day they go out there and compete,” Smart said. “Ben played some with the ones. Ben's competing hard. I think Andrew's competing hard. They both go there and compete and have done a good job.
