ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia will be without standout defensive tackle Trenton Thompson on Saturday at Vanderbilt because of a sprained MCL suffered in the rout of Tennessee.

“Trenton’s injury is a sprained MCL,” coach Kirby Smart said. “He will be out for this game, but it was not as bad as we originally thought, which was good news. Basically after this week, he will be week-to-week.”

Thompson went to the locker room before the first half ended in Knoxville. He posted a short video on his Instagram account of his right knee wrapped in a brace on Sunday.
