Former Georgia football coach denied opportunity to be a new head coach

There are a few current Georgia football coaches who are in the running to be a head coach elsewhere next season. But while Georgia fans wait to see if anyone from their coaching staff departs this offseason, there was one former UGA assistant who was in line to become the new head coach at Colorado State.

Tyson Summers did two different stints in Athens as an assistant coach, but his most recent job found him as the interim head coach at Colorado State this season. Sometimes an interim head coach becomes the new head coach at the end of the season, but Colorado State announced the hiring of UConn head coach Jim Mora on Wednesday instead.
