Earlier this month Georgia made headlines because they were taking former Bulldog Damon Wilson to court. Wilson played for Georgia through the 2024 season before packing his bags and transferring to Missouri, but it was his decision to transfer that caused UGA to take him to court.

Georgia claimed that Wilson owes them $390,000 in damages over an unpaid NIL buyout. Wilson however does not think he owes Georgia any money and has decided to sue UGA over attempting to penalize him for his decision to transfer.

Former Georgia defensive end Damon Wilson II has sued the school’s athletic association, escalating one of the messiest player-school disputes of the NIL and transfer portal era.
