Fit to lead: Football players work with nutritionists to stay in shape during May break

After three years, he’s used to hearing music blare and weights hit the ground right outside his door, Klein tunes out “Ain’t No Other Man” by Christina Aguilera as he puts together a booklet of meal suggestions for each football player.

At this point, only a handful of people, most of them staff workers, are there to listen. The football team has optional workouts during finals and the preceding week, and then it has May off before summer workouts and meetings start back up in June. In that time, players are without the staff usually located five yards from the free weights or snack table.
