Ex-Georgia DB Sanders Commings making transition from football to baseball

Tim Tebow isn’t the only former NFL player making a late-career sports switch.

Former Georgia defensive back Sanders Commings is looking to pursue a professional baseball career, FoxSports.com reported Friday.

Commings was drafted in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs and last played for the team in 2014.

Commings has been training five days a week with former MLB player Jerry Hairston Jr., who also has been helping him meet with teams about minor league contracts.

“That baseball thought was just in the back of my head,” Commings said.
