Chicago Bears Head Coach: 'Good Chance' Roquan Smith Plays Week 1

Though Chicago linebacker Roquan Smith will likely sit out the Bears fifth and final preseason game on Thursday night, head coach Matt Nagy is confident his first round pick will be able to play in week one against the Packers.

Smith is currently recovering from a minor hamstring strain that he suffered a little over a week ago. The Bears proceeded with caution on Smith in hopes of having him ready by September 9th, and Nagy believes he still has a “good chance” to suit up.

“No, I don’t think so. I think there’s still a good chance there,” Nagy said Tuesday, via the team’s official website.
