The College Football Playoff committee wasn't bold enough to reward Georgia for their blowout victory over Mississippi State.
Georgia football just got a blowout victory at Mississippi State this weekend which normally would be enough to move up in the rankings. But since no there were no teams above Georgia that lost they unfortunately held steady at No. 5 in the AP Poll that was released on Sunday.
The College Football Playoff committee however had a chance to reward Georgia in the second release of their rankings this season, but instead of moving Georgia up they punished them by giving them the hardest path of any team in the 12-team field.
