BASEBALL: South Carolina Takes Series with Sunday Win

Eighth-ranked South Carolina used three home runs to post a 5-1 series-clinching win over No. 23 Georgia Sunday at Foley Field.

The Gamecocks (19-7, 6-3 SEC) got eight innings from freshman right-hander Will Sanders (5-1) and won their first series over the Bulldogs since 2013. Georgia dropped to 18-9 overall, 3-6 in the SEC.

USC junior Brady Allen hit the first pitch of the game over the right field fence for his seventh home run. In the third, Georgia tied the game as Ben Anderson lined a triple down the left field line and scored on a groundout by Cole Tate.
