With National Signing Day less than three weeks away, it’s natural that the 2018 class is on the mind of fans. But there’s also a longer-term contest – make that really long-term – going on.
As SEC coaches are battling it out for elite uncommitted prospects like five-star cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. and five-star offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere, they’re also tossing out offers to players that only locals and the most die-hard recruiting fanatics know.
Like wide receiver Jacorey Brooks. Or offensive tackle Donovan Jackson. Or quarterback Aaron McLaughlin.
Those are three of the players in the 2021 recruiting class – that’s right, three years from now.
