Georgia football capped off an impressive 7-1 SEC record two weeks ago. Typically that is good enough to make the SEC Championship game, but in a top heavy league they still needed some help.
Ever since Georgia lost to Alabama earlier this season they have been on the outside looking in when it came to the SEC Championship game. They needed a lot of help from either Texas A&M or Alabama, but both teams just kept on winning. Alabama did lose to Oklahoma two weeks ago, but the head-to-head tiebreaker still kept things in the Tide's favor.
