The final College Football Playoff rankings were released on Sunday and Georgia found themselves with the No. 3 overall seed. While it is nice to see the Bulldogs earn a first round bye in the playoff it is a bit surprising that they stayed behind Ohio State who came in at No. 2.
The Buckeyes just lost to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship game on Saturday while Georgia dominated Alabama in the SEC Championship game. Since both teams finished with a 12-1 record everyone assumed Georgia would be given the higher seed, but that was not the case.
