3 Reasons Why Georgia Is Guaranteed To Beat Mississippi State This Weekend

The Georgia Bulldogs will host Mississippi State in perhaps the biggest game of the college football weekend with many people thinking that Mississippi State will be able to roll into Athens and pull off the upset. We strongly disagree with that. Here are three reasons why Georgia is guaranteed to win on Saturday:

1) Georgia's dominant rushing attack
Nick Chubb and Sony Michel combine to give Georgia the most explosive running back duo in the country. Mississippi State was able to stonewall LSU's rushing attack last weekend, but their star running back - Derrius Guice - got hurt halfway through the game and LSU didn't have a capable backup.

Chubb and Michel present a unique challenge that Mississippi State hasn't faced before and have been dominant in every game in which both have played. Don't expect that to change now.

2) Georgia's ability to stop Mississippi State's run game
Mississippi State's offense is centered around the power run game, and they rank in first in the SEC in rushing yards with nearly 300 yards per game. However, Georgia's front seven has been dominant this season. They're only giving up 14.3 points per game and 4.01 yards per play while generating seven sacks and 22 tackles for a loss. UGA has shown they have what it takes to stop a rushing attack like Mississippi State's. That will show on the field.

3) Georgia is better in big games
In the last 12 years, Georgia has a winning record (28-26) against ranked teams, making them one of three teams in the SEC that are over .500 in such games. On the flip side, Mississippi State is 10-42. And, in big games like this, home teams tend to come out ahead because of the boost they receive from the home crowd.
