Proud Georgetown Hoya and Gate City legend, Mac McClung, traveled a handful of miles from his Virginia hometown to Kingsport, Tennessee to throw out a ceremonial first pitch for a Mets minor-league affiliate.
WJHL out of Johnson City, Tennessee, covered the ceremony and got footage of the high heat.
The announcement is pretty low-key, likely to appease the NCAA’s rules, but McClung is easily still a major-league hero in those parts of the country (ahead of his sophomore campaign for national recognition and honors).
