Jessie Govan Named Top-10 Finalist for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award
WASHINGTON – Georgetown University’s Jessie Govan (Queens Village, N.Y. / Wings Academy) was named one of 10 candidates for the 2019 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award, as announced by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday. The award recognizes the top centers in men’s college basketball.
Govan leads the Hoyas with 18.3 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 51.1 percent from the floor and 43.8 percent from downtown. He adds 1.
