WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team will host Fordham University at McDonough Arena on Friday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). GU is currently 17-12 on the season and finished with a 9-9 record in the BIG EAST, earning the No. 6 seed at the 2017 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament.
This marks Georgetown's second-consecutive postseason berth after falling in a heartbreaker at Rutgers, 57-55, in the first round of last year's WNIT. It is also the second-straight postseason berth for Head Coach Natasha Adair in just her third season on the Hilltop.
