WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women’s basketball junior guard Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Hoyas to a pair of victories. Georgetown concluded nonconference play on Sunday with a 70-59 win over the University of Alabama. It was GU’s seventh-consecutive victory and improved the Hoyas to 8-2 overall.
In a pair of wins last week, Adomako led the Hoyas with a BIG EAST-best 22.5 points per game average along with 6.0 rebounds and a .679 shooting percentage. The junior shot a blistering 9-of-11 from the field against the Crimson Tide on Sunday as Georgetown dealt Alabama its first setback of the season for the Hoyas’ seventh-consecutive win.
