Fresno State healthier, with surprise boost, amid prep for Nebraska

Fresno State got its first glimpses of Nebraska on Tuesday, with the offense and defense working against scout teams for a period toward the end of practice. And as they get closer to game prep, the Bulldogs also are getting healthier after a rough go through much of fall camp.

Inside linebacker Nela Otukolo and running back Dontel James, who had knee surgeries Aug. 12, both were in practice. Though not on the field for contact periods, they couldn’t help but initiate some.

Their returns were expected, but the Bulldogs also received a surprise boost.

Cornerback Anthoula (Tank) Kelly, thought to be out for the season with his knee injury, has been cleared to return to practice and could work his way onto the field this season.
