Fresno State already down two cornerbacks for camp

Las Vegas

Fresno State cornerback Daquawn Brown, who was expected to challenge for a starting spot, is academically ineligible and will miss the season, according to sources in the program.

Anthoula “Tank” Kelly also will miss the season after undergoing knee surgery.

The Bulldogs do have returning starters at the corner positions in Tyquwan Glass and Jamal Ellis, and some depth to help absorb the losses of Brown and Kelly.

Glass, who along with receiver Aaron Peck is representing the Bulldogs at Media Days, started eight games last season, led the team with four interceptions and was in on 62 tackles, the most by a Fresno State cornerback since Desia Dunn had 65 in 2010.
