Fresno State defeated San Jose State 27-10 on Saturday, taking back the Valley Trophy for the first time since 2014.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 14 point lead in the first quarter, and they added another touchdown in the second quarter to enter halftime with a 21-0 lead. The offense slowed down in the second half, but the ‘Dogs held on for the win.
The Bulldogs relied on freshman running back Ronnie Rivers to carry the load on offense. He finished with two touchdowns and 105 rushing yards.
Quarterback Marcus McMaryion started his second game, but he did not throw a touchdown pass.
