New Mexico played run early, loaded up the box. How that went over with Fresno State quarterback Marcus McMaryion and the Bulldogs’ deep group is fairly predictable, but irked or not they took advantage in a 38-0 victory over the Lobos on Saturday.
After the Bulldogs went three-and-out on their first two possessions McMaryion aired it out, launching footballs over the heads of the Lobos and into single coverage. He hit Jamire Jordan with a 70-yard touchdown pass and on the next series hit KeeSean Johnson with a 75-yard strike that was followed with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Johnson.
