Bulldogs fall short in Mountain West championship

The Fresno State Bulldogs pursuit of a Mountain West Conference title came to an end after a 17-14 slugfest in the championship game against rivals Boise State at Albertsons Stadium.

Junior quarterback Marcus McMaryion had two rushing touchdowns on the night, and the Bulldog defense kept the Broncos to 17 points for the second week in a row. But the ‘Dogs couldn’t answer a late score by the Broncos that put them up.

The Bulldogs finished the season 9-4 with a bowl game to look forward to, but their turnaround can’t be understated. Coming off a 1-11 campaign in 2016, the ‘Dogs completed arguably the biggest turnaround in college football.
