A night to remember for Bulldog faithful

On a night of celebration the Fresno State Bulldogs put last season’s turmoil to rest with a shutout of the Incarnate Word Cardinals 66-0 at home Friday night.

“I thought the team went into the game tonight with the focus they needed,” head coach Jeff Tedford said. “We needed to stay focused on this game and on ourselves, and we did that.”

Quarterback Chason Virgil went 16-for-29 in the air for 246 yards and a touchdown while true freshman Ronnie Rivers, the first to start at running back since 1980, added 60 yards on nine carries and a touchdown in a 66-0 route.
