We wrote a couple of days ago that FSU defensive end Amaree Williams announced plans to enter the transfer portal. We also explained why it wasn’t really a loss, considering the former blue-chip recruit reclassifed out of high school, lacks production, and hasn’t physically matured yet.
That fact, and splitting time between tight end and defensive end, stunted his development at both positions. Williams made the move to defensive end in 2025, yet wasn’t an impact player. However, he had an opportunity to put himself in a position to be the guy at defensive end over the next year or two.
