Florida State has finally made some much-needed acquisitions to its back office with two hires. John Garrett, formerly of FSU and Duke, will replace Derrick Yray as the General Manager and Taylor Edwards as the Executive Director of Player Acquisitions from the Miami Hurricanes.
Some media were painting narratives that FSU wouldn’t have these hires in place before the transfer portal officially opened on January 2nd. Now that they are in place, the biggest question is whether they will have enough time to make an impact with portal acquisitions.
It’s fair to say many deals have already been made with players who have announced intentions to enter the portal.
