Winston's new head coach wasn't too happy with Bobby Bowden.
Tuesday, Bobby Bowden made some comments about Jameis Winston on the Paul Finebaum show, including the statement Wednesday "Well, I think it's a consensus among Florida State fans, and boosters that he was an embarrassment in a lot of ways to the university." Lovie Smith, Winston's new coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired back Wednesday, disagreeing with Bowden's statement.
"I'm disappointed. To say that the young man is an 'embarrassment?' That's pretty strong. I just don't think he's speaking for all of Florida State, even though he's in an official role there.
