SEC is laughing uncontrollably at ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 “alliance” | Commentary

It was, by my calculations, the most overhyped, anticlimactic, waste-of-time endeavor since Geraldo Rivera opened up Al Capone’s vault decades ago.

I’m talking about the so-called “alliance” that was jointly unveiled earlier this week by the commissioners of the ACC, Big Ten and Pac-12. Their names are Jim Phillips, Kevin Warren and George Kliavkoff, but they seemed more like Larry, Moe and Curly during their embarrassing dog and pony show on Tuesday.

Yahoo Sports college football insider Pete Thamel referred to it as “The Seinfeld Alliance — the alliance about nothing.”

The three commissioners said nothing, revealed nothing and signed nothing.
