The Hokies got off to a great start in this one. After a Trinity Baptiste triple VT found themselves up 10-2 with about five minutes left in the first quarter. The Noles fought back with a 9-2 run that was sparked by a Morgan Jones layup. Aisha Sheppard broke the run with a three ball and the quarter ended with Tech up 15-11.
VT started the second quarter with five straight points to take a 20-11 lead.
