The game started off tight. However, FSU made a move with about four minutes left in the first quarter. Nicki Ekhomu hit a three ball and her shot sparked the Seminoles to a 13-2 run to end the quarter. Florida State enjoyed a 20-12 lead going into the second quarter.
The Noles continued the onslaught in the second period. FSU scored the first eight points of the second quarter to take a commanding 28-12 lead.
