Despite multiple media members pinpointing him as the next potential head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Mike Norvell will remain as Florida State’s head football coach.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Norvell has signed an extension for about $10 million per year for the next eight years.
After Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning decided to stay in Eugene, reports surfaced that Norvell was Alabama’s top target to replace Nick Saban, who made the decision to retire on Wednesday. After dealing with Jordan Travis’ season-ending injury and College Football Playoff snub, a situation that gave many fans flashbacks to Jimbo Fisher’s annual antics was the last thing anybody affiliated with FSU wanted to go through.
