Florida State head coach Mike Norvell earned a double nod of recognition on Thursday, with the American Heart Association naming him both the ACC Coach of the Year and a finalist for the 2023 Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year Award.
The other finalists include David Braun (Northwestern Wildcats), Jamey Chadwell (Liberty Flames), Kalen DeBoer (Washington Huskies), Eliah Drinkwitz (Missouri Tigers), Rhett Lashlee (SMU Mustangs), Nick Saban (Alabama Crimson Tide), and Steve Sarkisian (Texas Longhorns).
It’s the second time that Norvell has been named a finalist for the award — in 2019, before heading to Tallahassee, he earned the honor following leading Memphis to a 12–2 (7–1 AAC) record, AAC championship and Cotton Bowl berth.
