Florida State has created some memorable moments at the Superdome in New Orleans.
There was the Fifth Quarter in the French Quarter when the Seminoles avenged a late-season tie to in-state rival Florida in 1995. Five years later, Chris Weinke and Peter Warrick would help guide FSU to its third national championship with a win over Virginia Tech in 2000.
While Sunday’s 24-23 win over LSU might not rank as high as some of those earlier feats, it’s still an important moment for Florida State football. The Seminoles have gone from competing for championships to competing for mediocrity recently, suffering through four straight losing seasons.
