FSU’s Malik Osborne steps into the center spot as Seminoles deal with injuries, inconsistencies

Malik Osborne may not be your typical college basketball center but the Florida State redshirt senior believes his ability to play at the power forward and center spots makes him an attractive option for a future career in the NBA.

Gone are the days when players found themselves pigeonholed into playing either at the 4 (power forward) or 5 (center) by their height or build. Most of today’s players are athletic enough to play both positions.

“That’s how the NBA is nowadays,” said the 6-foot-9, 225-pound Osborne. “You see guys like [Miami Heat’s] P.J. Tucker and [Toronto Raptor’s] Gary Trent Jr.
