As far as Super Bowl MVPs go, you can typically flip a coin between the starting quarterbacks, and you’d have a pretty good shot. QBs have won the award 29 times, more than four times as often as the next most decorated position, running back (7 MVPs).
That said, current Los Angeles Ram Lamarcus Joyner, who starred at Florida State, has made a career out of defying the odds— so perhaps that’s why you can lay a bet on him to take home MVP honors in tonight’s Super Bowl LIII.
Then again, it’s especially rare for a defensive player to be named Super Bowl MVP.
