We don’t talk about women’s hoops much, but the WNBA Draft saw two former Noles have their names called Thursday night.
Shakayla Thomas was selected in the second round and No. 23 overall by the Los Angeles Sparks, and Imani Wright was selected in the third round and No. 26 overall by the Phoenix Mercury.
It was the third consecutive season former Noles were selected in the WNBA Draft and the second consecutive year players were taken in the second and third rounds.
Both Thomas and Wright helped lead FSU women’s basketball team to a 26-7 record and third place finish in the ACC conference.
