Jamie Vance was already making a name for himself as one of the top high school prospects in the state of Louisiana, earning the nickname Greedy after styling his game after another talented cornerback from the New Orleans area Greedy Williams.
But it was a chance meeting with Williams, who spent two seasons at LSU where he became an All-SEC performer and a Thorpe Award finalist, that opened Vance’s eyes.
“He inspired me a lot coming out of high school,” Vance recalled. “I went to an LSU camp when he was there, and I was competing well and he was talking to me and I was like, ‘That’s who I want to be like.
