FSU Athletic Director Michael Alford will stick with FSU football head coach Mike Norvell through the 2025 season. In short, the main money people when it comes to providing the money to pay the buyout were not comfortable with making the move.
Folks want to blame Michael Alford, but he can’t fire the head coach if folks aren’t willing to pony up for the buyout. It’s not the best look from a perception standpoint.
However, FSU has had some crazy expenses in the last two years. The ACC lawsuit, stadium renovations, and the Football-Only Facility.
In a statement, FSU AD Michael Alford says the school is “fully committed” to Mike Norvell this season and a “comprehensive assessment” of the program will conclude at the season’s end.
