Shannon, who spent last season as a defensive analyst with the Seminoles, is replacing Chris Marve, who left to become the defensive coordinator at Virginia Tech, according to a report by FootballScoop.
A native of Miami, Shannon has spent much of his coaching career in the Sunshine State, including stints as head coach at Miami and Florida. He previously worked as the defensive coordinator at UCF (2018-20) under then-coach Josh Heupel.
