For the better part of the 2015 football season, the Florida State Seminoles were plagued by the lack of a tall receiver to play the part in the red zone. After this April's Florida State Spring Game in Orlando, the positive reviews of sophomore 'Nole wideout Auden Tate were ubiquitous, as the 6-5, 218 pound WR hauled in six passes for 100 yards and a pair of scores. FSU fans rejoiced, marking Tate's performance as the crowning achievement of the spring.
They weren't even close.
Because Tate's real breakout performance came on Mother's Day, when he stood taller than his measurements and took more upon his shoulders than a red-zone attack.
