Florida State received a verbal commitment from former South Carolina edge rusher Gilber Edmond.
The Fort Pierce product announced his decision on social media, choosing the Seminoles over programs like LSU and Florida. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Edmond has two years of eligibility left and is the No. 39 overall transfer player in the NCAA transfer portal according to 247Sports.
Edmond is the latest former Gamecock starter to join the program through the transfer portal: safety Jammie Robinson (2021), defensive end Keir Thomas (2021), offensive tackle Jazston Turnetine (2022) and tight end Jaheim Bell (2023).
