FSU Football smart to eliminate ‘turnover bag’ for 2019 season

In the first season under head coach Willie Taggart last year, the FSU football team unveiled an inspirational item for those on the defense when they came up with a turnover – a nearly $500 red backpack that was worn by the player who got the turnover and subsequently mocked by everyone across Tallahassee and around the country.

It seems that the idea of ‘securing the bag’, the reason given for a backpack was being worn on the sideline never caught on – mostly because it seemed like something that was desperately thought of to compete with what other schools are doing, like that annoying turnover chain that those down in Coral Gables have each season.
