FSU Football: QB Everett Golson won’t play in Peach Bowl

Multiple Saturday afternoon reports are indicating that Florida State quarterback Everett Golson did not make the trip to Atlanta for the Chick Fila-A Peach Bowl, and that the senior transfer will not play against Houston on New Year’s Eve.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Golson elected not to travel with the team citing a “personal issue,” thus rendering his college football career essentially over. The graduate transfer from Notre Dame started seven games for FSU, compiling a 6-1 record. Golson appeared in two more late-season games, and ended the season with 1,778 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and three interceptions.
