FSU defense making strides but Seminoles working to eliminate explosive plays, missed tackles

Florida State defensive tackle Robert Cooper has been pleased with how the defense has responded to the challenging season.

“We’re fighting,” said Cooper. “It’s always been a joy to watch and be a part of it. We can be down 6 [points] or 12, we’re always going to be fighting.”

FSU (1-4, 1-2 ACC) ranks last in the conference in scoring defense (31 points per game) and 11th in the league in total defense (409 yards per game). In the win against Syracuse, the defense held the Orange to 63 plays, the lowest output against the Seminoles.
