Florida State associate head women’s basketball coach Lance White has accepted the head coach position at Pitt. White will take over for former Pitt coach Susie McConnell-Serio.
White spent 15 years in Tallahassee helping FSU to a 350-145 (.707) record. White was a trusted assistant on Sue Semrau’s bench. He was often seen drawing up plays on the sidelines and Semrau would sometimes let him run practices.
White was also an excellent recruiter and one of the major reasons that FSU’s recruiting has significantly improved in the last few years.
White is an alumnus of Texas Tech and was seen as a major candidate for that opening as well this offseason.
