College Football Playoff Rankings: FSU back to No. 4 ahead of championship weekend

Florida State, for the seventh time in school history, finished the regular season with an undefeated and untied record, advancing to 12-0 with a 24-15 victory over the Florida Gators.

It was FSU’s first win without quarterback Jordan Travis, who was lost for the season in the Seminoles’ home finale against the North Alabama Lions. Florida State dropped from No. 4 to No. 5 in the previous edition of the College Football Playoff rankings (Week 12), with Washington’s resume and the Seminoles’ slow start against the Lions cited as the reasons for the switch.

In the final weekend of regular season competition, Georgia beat Georgia Tech by just eight points, Michigan outlasted Ohio State 30-24 to earn a berth in the Big Ten Championship and the Huskies snuck past Washington State on a last-minute field goal.
