If the College Football Playoff had expanded to 12 teams this season, Florida State would be spending particularly close attention to this weekend’s conference championship games. The Seminoles, who were ranked No. 13 in Tuesday’s Playoff rankings, would need some help but could be in line for an at-large bid under the newly minted postseason format.
Unfortunately for FSU, the expanded playoff won’t go into effect for two more years after the Playoff’s Board of Managers announced Thursday that the 12-team Playoff would go into effect during the 2024-25 season.
FSU coach Mike Norvell is excited about the new postseason format but hopes the organization can continue to create a balance for the participating players.
